Independent Living Program

The Independent Living (IL) Program assists you with living more independently within your home and community.

If you are someone with significant disabilities, experience barriers to independent living in your home and community, and who also do not desire employment as a goal, the IL Program may be for you.

The IL Program addresses barriers to independence within the home. This can include ramps, home and vehicle modifications, some medical equipment not covered by insurance, hearing aids, environmental controls. and more.

Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS) partners with Iowa Department for the Blind (IDB) and the Iowa Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) to promote the expansion of services of IL throughout Iowa.

If you're interested in knowing more about IL, please contact one of the listed contacts under Contact Us.
